Residents of Manila who have relatives in the United States and Canada may now avail themselves of free calls offered at the City Hall, Mayor Alfredo Lim said.

The toll-free booth is located at the ground floor of the building and is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.

Lim said the free access calls to the US and Canada, made possible by the city government’s partnership with Pacific Network Inc., will be offered until February 2009.

The firm’s marketing director, Chito San Jose, said additional toll-free booths may be installed in other parts of the building, depending on the volume of people who wish to call abroad.
